Former Cellar Door and Prime Society chef Justin Wong wants us to forget Bondi and give the smaller beachside suburb of Bronte some love. That, however, is the only spotlight the alternative surfers’ suburb gets at this neighbourhood black-and-white – the dishes at this shake-the-sand-off-your-thongs floored bistro are typical Aussie plates. Spaghettini with Crystal Bay prawns, white wine, garlic, chilli, rocket and parmesan ($24), 250g 300-day grain-fed Rangers Valley ribeye from New South Wales ($48), and kiwi and passionfruit pavlova are among the selection. Brunch is also served, but the alcohol list is limited.
