Long the go-to place for impressing your date with a romantic Italian dinner and a stunning view of the Marina Bay area, the 132-seater Forlino has just undergone a revamp. Japanese chef Kentaro Torii takes over from culinary heavyweight Mario Caramella (who has opened his own restaurant InItaly), adding a modernist touch to creations such as the four cheeses bonbon, pasta with chanterelle and porcini mushrooms ($26) and Merluzzo, black cod wrapped in parma prosciutto, squid ink sauce, tomato ($40), alongside mainstays like the spaghetti alla chitarra ($39) and guance di bue, beef cheeks with chocolate and red wine sauce ($40). And if you’re celebrating that special occasion, go for the chef’s five-course signature menu ($108) or the seven-course degustation menu at $138. An all-you-can-eat lunch ($88, $38 for children 6-12 years) is also offered on Sundays.
