This place is like a Carlsberg commercial. Open the innocuous sliding doors and you suddenly enter a raucous, buzzing world full of yelling chefs, handclapping service staff and customers shouting to be heard above the din. The chefs kneel on three raised timber platforms that catch a trough of fresh seafood, vegetables and meats. Pick what you want and it’s all grilled on the spot before being served on long wooden paddles. Since there is no seasoning or adornment, super-fresh ingredients are key (the grape ice cream is sensational). And it shows in the nightly crowds that sit packed together in rows around the platforms. It’s all highly entertaining.
