Japan-based Kensai, which in Japanese roughly means ‘healthy’ and ‘vegetable’, opens up its first overseas outpost at Liang Court. Boasting to provide the closest thing to Japanese home cooking outside of an authentic Japanese family, the value-for-money lunch and dinner buffet ($19.90 on weekdays, $24.90 on weekends) has an offering of 15 dishes that include the Nikujaga, a wholesome beef stew with potatoes, carrots and onions, the Dashimaki, a grilled multi-layered omelette and the Renkon Kinpira, made from burdock root and braised in mirin and soy sauce. The free-flow drinks bar offers up coffee, tea and a range of juices to boot.
