This Japanese restaurant may be as old as the hotel where it stands but it looks modern and updated thanks to a renovation in 2011, with interiors that follow a Japanese traditiion of building without nails. A popular venue for power business lunches by Japanese professionals working in the CBD area, it is also known for master chef Hiroshi Ishii's kaiseki menu and has started offering an eight-course weekend set brunch ($60++; $110++ with freeflow of beers, wines and sake) that includes assorted sashimi and tempura, chawanmushi, cod fish with teriyaki sauce, California maki and a choice of teppanyaki.
