Amid the recent influx of South American-inspired diners to hit the scene, Latin Quarter’s entry comes hot on the heels of its sister restaurant La Barra, the Colombian street food joint at The Star Vista. Run by the same folks, this lunch-only 60-seater is nestled within the academic confines of the Science Hub, and variety and affordability appears to be its strongest suit. For $13.90, you’ll be treated to a carousel of 13 different dishes – think fire-roasted corn and tortilla soup, chipotle rib and mango jerk chicken with habanero – from a potpourri of Latin American cuisines. La Barra’s popular pura shakes make an appearance too – an invigorating blend of blended ice and exotic Colombian fruits ($6.50).
