It takes a special kind of bravado to successfully decorate a restaurant like Myra’s Beach Club. As you prop your sandy self up at their spacious bar and survey Myra’s interior, the odd mix of the small live-music stage decorated with a bullfighting poster, surfboard adorned with flashing fairy lights and zombie-shooting arcade game will have you wondering what misguided delights await you on their menu. Somehow, the eclectic decor works well and the food does not disappoint. The quesadillas are moist without being greasy, and livened up with mixed cheese, jalapeños and fresh cilantro. The burritos offer a more hearty feed, though the beef variety tastes a little low-grade in quality. Mexican natives may get a little hot under the poncho with the absence of guacamole as a side, but on the whole, Myra’s whips up an impressively authentic menu.
