While Pasta Inc’s affordable prices shouldn’t go unnoticed, it’s the Little India location that caught our attention. Located in a shophouse along Jalan Besar, this Italian hideaway’s cosy booths are covered with white tablecloths, and the restaurant glows under the understated light of a chandelier. Lightly battered and thinly sliced, the Veal Scaloppine di Vitello is pan-fried with butter-sage and topped with Parma ham, all resting underneath a blanket of melted mozzarella. The classic fettuccine alla carbonara brings nothing new to the table, but the chopped pieces of bacon and onion and the creamy white wine sauce do not disappoint. Best part? The meal can be finished off with a mango lassi from down the street. Pasta Inc has moved to a new venue in Chinatown (see address below).
