Located in the heart of the CBD, this lunch-only ramen bar disperses the queue at their so-far-so-popular Circular Road joint with its new branch on Stanley Street. Besides earning a bigger dining space and more seating perched along the bar, the new space also incorporates a station offering free-flow servings of Japanese-style potato salad, bean sprouts, steamed rice and barley tea, going beyond providing free servings of hard-boiled eggs at each table. On the menu are five flavours of Hakatastyle Tonkotsu ramen (from $12.90) – standard, spicy, mild, prawn, and cheese and basil – with the option of having your noodles cooked to a ‘very hard’ doneness usually only available in Japan. Note also that they only accept cash payments and it is advisable to head there a bit earlier as the queue can get pretty long.
