Sarang
Gangnam-style bistro gets a revamp

Time Out says

With tapas a food trend that is here to stay, it seems that the Koreans are getting in on the act as well. After several incarnations, Sarang (it means love), perched on the seventh floor of Orchard Central in a semi- outdoor setting, has reinvented itself as an upbeat, contemporary bistro decorated with plenty of greenery. On the menu are familiar Korean favorites given a Western twist by head chef Jung Yun Yur – great sharing options include the Sarang nachos, an addictive mix of corn chips drizzled with traditional bulgogi sauce ($9.50) and the spoon pizza ($8.50), an oven-baked pizza gratin with chunks of fiery marinated chicken. Meats feature heavily for the mains – the Sarang Meat Lover’s Platter ($42) is an assortment of rib eye steak, wine-marinated pork belly and honey yuzu chicken, while the BBBB (Big Bang Bulgogi Burger, $16) is yet another modern twist to Korean comfort fare. They’re spot on with the alcohol: table-side staples of soju and makgeolli are infused with various fruits and sodas ($12/single, $19/ double) for a refreshing accompaniment to the food.
