Time Out says
Sandwiches, croissants and home-baked cakes are the mainstays, and teas share equal weight with the coffees ($5). Daily specials include the breakfast plate ($15.80) and a daily-changing soup ($5.80) and croissant-and- butter pudding ($6.80). Gene Mok – a Le Cordon Bleu (Sydney) graduate and former personal assistant to Emmanuel Stroobant – is responsible for filling up the sunlit space (an airwell in the centre of this shophouse is covered by glass) with enticing aromas. We love sitting at one of the big wooden tables for the hearty, smooth sweet-potato soup that comes with biscotti-like ciabatta slices, along with a roast beef sandwich ($12.80) with arugula, onion marmalade, tomato confit and dijon mustard on thick slices of sundried tomato foccacia. As for why he’s selfish – can you fault a man who will not serve what he won’t eat?
