In a town where it feels like a new Italian joint opens every day, it’s easy to overlook the more established outlets. The seven-year-old Senso is one place that continues to impress with its contemporary menu and exemplary service.
On a recent visit, we quickly forgot about the wrong order arriving at our table – a roast balsamico cod instead of grilled pesto sea bass – by the seamless way that, within seconds, the unwanted fish was whisked away and replaced with a complimentary glass of wine. The Sunday brunch spread ($88) is accompanied by free-flow Italian Prosecco.
Senso expands its (delicious) horizons, opening a new outlet on Raffles Avenue in addition to its original home on Club Street. Before getting on the Flyer, try its margherita pizza – a refreshingly simple take on an Italian classic – and finish with a real latte.
This July, Senso rolls out their new executive set lunch menu, including homemade goose liver terrine with mango chutney on oven-baked brioche bread, carnaroli risotto with forest mushrooms and their Lardo di Colonnata, or slivers of cured pork fat. Available in 2- or 3-course, diners can choose from a combination of starter and main, main and dessert or starter, main and dessert.
Pizza from $18, mains from $24.
Executive set lunch (Mon-Fri except PH) $34-$40++
Degustasion (dinner only) from $78++
Prosecco Sunday brunch (11.30am-2.30pm) $88
