In search of the perfect cupcake, former fashion stylist Alia S Dada and husband Danish road-tripped across the USA and Europe, stopping at every bakery they could find. Hundreds of discarded cups (and cooking classes) later, they’ve opened Swirls Bake Shop with possibly the best-tasting cupcakes we’ve ever had. Each moist bite is made using house-made vanilla extract and ingredients sourced from London. The Red Velvet is a sultry crimson chocolate with light cream cheese frosting, while the ‘What’s Up Doc?’ – a carrot-cake cupcake – has quickly become a buzzed item, even outside of Robertson Quay.
