Backpacker hostels and tea rooms may seem unlikely bedfellows, but that's precisely what the boutique Adler Hostel has done. The light-filled salon, with its quaint furniture and knick-knacks, provides a quiet space away from the chaos of the Chinatown neighbourhood. Chill out with their Asian-inspired tea mocktails ($5.90) such as the Pandan Chiffon Cold Brew and Adler's Coco. For the latter, coconut juice, grape jam and creamer are shaken up with the sencha-based Adler house blend, and garnished with pandan. Hot brews ($4.90) are available too, with choices such as Earl Grey and Yunnan silver tips from Clipper Tea.
