This new Tanjong Pagar burger joint keeps things nice and simple with a single-page menu of sandwiches and Belgian beers, exposed brick walls, a dark, narrow interior and four two-seater tables. Helmed by chef Jimmy Chok, formerly of Bistro Soori, the sandwich options include a prime beef hamburger with gruyère cheese and truffle mayo sauce ($12.50) and pulled pork burger with gruyère cheese and sweet mustard sauce ($11.50). For dessert, try their nice range of fresh-baked pastry items, such as croissants, scones, brownies or Lamington cake, with a shot of espresso ($3), the cheapest we’ve seen in the neighbourhood.
