Analogue Anonymous is a thoughtful blend of caffeine, creativity and cool. Part coffee bar, part lifestyle boutique and part photo studio, this hybrid venue is as vibey as they come without feeling pretentious.
Opened by the folks behind Hip Xiong Photo Studio located right upstairs, Analogue Anonymous brings that same rebellion against the digital grind, championing a slower, more tactile approach to everyday pleasures.
Pop in for a flat white ($5.50) or something more unexpected, like the Asam Man – their take on the local Asam Boi sour plum and calamansi drink made with pandan and oldenlandia water instead – the perfect thirst quencher on a scorching hot day.
There’s an Audio-Technica turntable in-store where you can test-play albums before deciding to buy. The space is also dotted with curated finds like second-hand t-shirts ($30), niche fragrances from Raer Scents and prints from GOFY, which highlights creations by Southeast Asian artists.
The vibe
Creative, cosy and packed with personality, Analogue Anonymous feels like hanging out in a friend’s home if that friend had a killer record collection, great coffee and a nose for good design.
The food
No hot meals but there’s a small selection of pastries from @gurtbakery to go with your drink. They tend to sell out quick so head down early if you want to get your hands on some.
The drink
The usuals. Espresso ($3.50), black ($4.50) and white coffees ($5.50) made with beans from Ipoh as well as matcha lattes are available.
Time Out tip
Ask to preview a record before buying, you won’t be able to blast it on speakers but slipping on the headphones makes it feel like your own private concert.
