In her youth, Yan Beng Hoon never wanted to become a hawker. But she did so anyway to as means to get by. She started making min jiang kueh, a recipe which she learned from a close friend. Her version ($1) is made deliberately thinner and softer than usual, making it all too easy to snack on.
