Two homegrown brands, Caviar Colony and Sunday Folks, join hands to bring us a combination we never knew we needed. Born out of a desire to celebrate local pride as we inch toward National Day, the purveyors of accessible luxury present Singapore’s – and Asia’s – first caviar ice cream!
Tweaked from Sunday Folk’s proprietary ice cream recipe, each opulent scoop includes milk infused with rosemary, extra virgin olive oil and Okinawa sea salt that promises to accentuate the Russian hybrid caviar’s best qualities. For the uninitiated, these charcoal-coloured eggs taste nutty with a subtly sweet finish reminiscent of Kyoho grapes – a refined contrast of umami against the rich and creamy ice cream. They are also free from hormones, preservatives and antibiotics.
From August 1 to 13, caviar lovers can now look forward to two variations: the classic two-scoop waffle cone ($68); and the luxe dessert bowl ($168). They will be available only by pre-order and served exclusively at Sunday Folk’s ION Orchard outlet.
