Cream and Custard is inspired by a love of the fine dining experience, but this is not just another fancy dessert spot that you go to to be seen. The prices are accessible and desserts are made in limited quantities, so you'll have to get there early to get a taste of its signature The Black Ball Ball ($9.80). It's a multi-textured plate of 66 percent Valrhona chocolate mousse, crumble and passion fruit curd encased within a sphere, served with the added effect of a melting lava spill when hot chocolate sauce is drizzled over it. Although the desserts are the main attraction, the folks at Cream and Custard have got light bites covered, too, with sandwiches and egg dishes ($9.80-$14.80) and a variety of pastas ($13.80-$15.80). Teas and coffees range from $2.80 to $5.50.
