Time Out says

Forget Geylang's sleazy reputation, it is now one of the coolest hoods in town – coexisting alongside red lantern houses and Chinese eateries and supper places are cool new bars and hip cafes. The newest kid on the block is Geylang Drip City, a 25-seater coffee bar.

Nestled at a corner of Lorong 4 right next to BBQ Box, the new cafe is offering speciality coffee and a curated selection of light bites. The sliding glass doors open up to a minimalistic all-black design with marble tables and edgy respite from the busy streets of Geylang. After all, "drip" is a slang that practically means "cool".

Even if it's your first time there, trust us, the staff at Geylang Drip City will make you feel at home. Let barista Bobby talk you through the different drink options available – whether you're a caffeine addict or more of a matcha person. Coffee beans are roasted at The Community Coffee, a hidden cafe in the basement of Far East Plaza.

Not sure what to order? Popular options are their Black, White and Soul Plane, which consists of a piccolo and a single shot to showcase the flavours of the espresso. Serious coffee lovers would be thrilled to find that there are three different single-origin coffee beans served for their V60 pour-over coffee: El Salvador Santa Rosa, Bali Lakshana and Rwanda Izuba.

If you're feeling peckish, Geylang Drip City also has some light bites such as creamy scrambled eggs with buttered sourdough and delicious bakes like their Channel Orange – served with soft and chewy orange candied brioche and a dollop of fig cream – as well as Cocoa Butter Kisses, a rich and dense chocolate pudding sprinkled with sea salt flakes.

The atmosphere at Geylang Drip City is unpretentious and a world away from the Instagram-worthy spots around town. But don't take our word for it, check it out for yourself. We think Geylang Drip City is set to become the dopest low-key hangout in the hood.
