Time Out says

Fancy enjoying seafood dishes under an ERP gantry? Popular casual seafood restaurant Keng Eng Kee Seafood (KEK Seafood) has opened its third outlet at SAFRA Punggol, and it's decked out in quirky details that pay homage to its long history in the dining scene (since the 1970s) and Singapore's rapid development.

Singaporeans will find many of the restaurant's features instantly recognisable. The entrance is designed after Punggol's MRT platform in a nod to the latest outlet's location, while a 1980s bus stop and ERP sign is recreated in the restaurant. The floors are painted with road signage and even the menu is made to look like iconic road sign boards. A canopy dripping with solitary lightbulbs also call to mind the old apartments in Singapore.

Snap a photo with the murals in KEK Seafood. Created by local artists Sufian Hamri (TraseOne) and Tiffany Yao, these depict nostalgic scenes from Singapore. One vibrant scene shows children playing marbles and hopscotch at the Dragon Playground, while another scene puts the colourful Peranakan shophouses centrestage.

Instagram-worthy interiors aside, KEK Seafood @ SAFRA Punggol has new and exclusive dishes on its menu. Seafood lovers should try the grilled assorted seafood with KEK homemade sauce ($32.80) featuring a bevy of tiger prawns, clams, mushrooms, and vermicelli drizzled with a signature sauce. The otah charcoal fried dough fritters with salad ($16.80) makes for a cruncy snack with a punch of spicy otah creaminess, while KEK Seafood's Signature Moonlight Horfun gets a new twist in the Sizzling Claypot Moonlight Horfun ($15.80) that's packed with Chinese sausages, prawns, sliced fish, and egg. Finish off with cereal hae bee hiam fried ice cream ($8.80), a curiously sweet and umami dessert.

Long-time fans of KEK Seafood will be glad to know that its signature zi char dishes will also be on the SAFRA Punggol menu. Dig into crowd favourites like coffee pork ribs ($15.80), marmite chicken ($15.80) and KEK curry sliced pork ($18.80).
