Commit to having at least one pasta dish as part of your meal here. Housemade and cooked to al dente perfection, the fettuccini is coated with mouth-staining squid ink and finished with battered squid rings and explosive ikura ($24). And in another standout, cream of smelt roe smears shades of pastel orange on torn shreds of pappardelle and burnt-edged prawns ($28). Starters like the temaki of Japanese red snapper with tempura crumbs, crab and a zingy yuzu truffle dressing ($23), and the tartare of wasabi-spiced tuna and avocado ($23), add grounding to a soulless day out shopping.
