Following a successful launch in September last year, Luke's Lobster has opened a second outlet at Jewel Changi. Located beside % Arabica on the ground floor, the new store recalls a classic seafood shack – complete with distressed wood, repurposed lobster trawlers and plenty of sunlight streaming through the mall's glass ceilings.
You can expect Luke's Lobster's usual signature menu items like wild-caught Maine lobsters ($25.50), Jonah crabs ($23.50) and shrimp ($21.50) in warm, buttered rolls. But the current star of the Jewel Changi store is the truffle butter lobster roll ($30.50). Four ounces of chilled Maine lobster claw and knuckle meat are tossed in truffle-infused butter and tucked into a buttered, griddled bun. What catches the eye is the premium truffle salsa topping – it’s flown all the way from Tuscany, Italy, and has a luxurious musky aroma that cuts through the natural brine of the seafood. You can try it exclusively at Jewel Changi, though the offering will eventually be carted over to the Shaw House outlet. Don’t dither about though – it's only available till mid-March.
To complete the laidback seafood shack experience, wash the lobster buns down with some refreshing beers from Little Creatures. For the month of February, you can get a pint of Little Creatures IPA ($17.50) or Little Creatures Dogs Days ($16.50) for just $8 with every order of the truffle butter lobster roll. The latter is particularly bright, tropical and refreshing, perfect for a daytime chillout sesh.
