From September 1 to 11, Japan Food Town is the only place in Singapore where you can have certified Matsusaka beef provided by the Matsusaka Cattle Council in Japan. This is the first official export from Matsusaka city to Singapore: its wagyu is among the top three beef selections in Japan, holding its own against the more well-known cattle of Ohmi and Kobe.
Diners can order a variety of dishes made using A4 grade Matsusaka beef from the ten participating restaurants. Enjoy the natural taste of the beef by having it simply prepared at Shabu Shabu Tajimaya (from $50.90 per person) or try something unique like the sirloin roast beef roll ($53/6 pieces) from Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka. If the prices seem too steep, there are also affordable options like the Matsusaka Ushi bun ($9.80) from Machida-Shoten.
