Fire’s three-course seasonal lunch menu

It’s all about cooking with fire over at Argentinian restaurant Fire. By using an open fire pit and a variety of woods like apple, oak, and almond, the menu prides itself on the art of Argentine wood-fired cooking. Here, the dishes are beautifully plated and fine-tuned to show off prime cuts of meat and fresh seafood.

Try the three-course set lunch (from $58) – it’s seasonal so you’ll get to try something new every few months. Whet your appetite with a tempting entree. It’s the stracciatella cheese topped with smoked jamon and fig compote that checks all the boxes for us, but you can also choose between a tomato salad, creamy Argentinian-style corn soup, or a refreshing crab salad (additional $10).

As for the mains, choose between the likes of char-grilled free range chicken, cauliflower steak, sustainable seabass or a wood-fired Wagyu hanging tender steak. It might be lunch but the set meal also comes with dessert, either a dulce de leche panna cotta or a dark chocolate fondant, so you’ll be leaving Fire on a sweet note. Add on $15 for a glass of white, red, or prosecco. You’ll want to order a bottle of Evian too – a refreshing swig of natural spring water to revive the rest of your day.

Flnt’s seasonal lunch set from $35

You’re in luck: Japanese-Peruvian sumiyaki restaurant Flnt is also offering an equally tempting lunch set. There’s also an open kitchen galley, so watch on as talented chefs whip up Nikkei-influenced dishes over a binchotan grill.

These Japanese-Peruvian flavours are made apparent in the lunch set, with mains like a spiced chicken anticuchos ($45) and an A4 Wagyu lomo saltado ($90), a traditional Peruvian beef stir-fry. This seasonal menu also changes every few months, so you’ll be wanting to make repeated visits. For those with sashimi cravings, lap up the Nikkei bara chirashi don ($48) or negitoro (fatty tuna) don ($65) but otherwise, the yasai (vegetable) don ($35) or tempura don ($35) are also solid choices. Each lunch set comes with pickles, a Hokkaido corn miso soup, and seasonal fruits. Make sure to order a bottle of Evian too – a refreshing swig of natural spring water for the rest of your day.
