If you love dainty tarts and elegant cakes, don't miss this hole-in-the-wall patisserie in Lavendar. Partage Patisserie may look like it sprouted from nowhere, but it was formerly a Pasir Ris home business run by pastry chef Terence Lin, who's also the man behind Buttercube SG.
And there's more to Terence than meets the eye. He was part of the team that bagged the Global Pastry Chef Champion award at the Worldchefs Global Chefs Challenge 2022 in Abu Dhabi, alongside teammate Dexter Lee. The skill and finesse that won them the competition is evident in the dainty creations at Partage Patisserie.
There's a tight menu of elegant tarts: Mango Jasmine, Matcha Blossom, Coffee, and Rocher – and frankly, they don't need more at this point. We tried the first two: the mango jasmine is refreshing, with a melt-in-your-mouth sable tart topped by passion crémeux, fragrant jasmine chantilly, and a dollop of mango; the matcha blossom is a twist on trendy strawberry matcha drink, with layers of vanilla sponge, vanilla crémeux, and strawberry compote wrapped in deliciously earthy matcha, piped in an intricate blossom pattern.
Fans of Buttercube will be glad to know that familiar favourites are on the menu. We're referring to the plain croissant and pain au chocolat, which are baked fresh and available daily until sold out. Come on the weekend for $3 cinnamon rolls, and don't forget to pair with a cup of joe, made from beans that Terence gets from a local roastery.
Partage Patisserie is located at 11 Cavan Road, #01-07, S209848, where seats are scant. But we think it's worth the trip down for a taste of some lovingly-made pastries (and to support a small local business, too). Follow the patisserie at @partag.e for updates on bakes, pop-ups, and workshops.
