POMPOMPURIN, a pudgy golden retriever Sanrio character with an iconic brown beret, opens his first café in South-East Asia. Within its garden-themed interiors, you'll find a menu that replicates his likeness in dishes like the sweet coconut milk chicken curry rice ($18) and salty beef stroganoff ($19). Desserts are a better bet with the POMPOMPURIN-looking mango parfait ($20), slightly dry pancakes ($17) shaped into the cartoon canine that come with bananas and a drizzling of caramel, and the I am Purin Pompompurin pudding ($10) which is served in a jar designed with the mascot's face.
The café also offers sugary lattes ($12) and pudding shakes ($13) decorated to fit the theme. And if you want to take the little fella home, hit up the merch section. There, you'll find everything from stationery ($3-$33) to seat cushions ($30), the latter of which truly takes advantage of POMPOMPURIN’s apparent squishiness.
