At the entrance to the revamped Turf City sits RoundHouse, which takes over from former six-year-old Picotin by the Emmanuel Stroobant Group. While the expansive 300-seater retains much of its original European-style countryside charm, F&B greenhorns Wayne Gladwin and his wife, local DJ Vernetta Lopez, have replaced its predecessor’s refined French menu with a simpler, Western-themed one.
Revel in the pizzas, including the Loco Lopez ($24) topped with capers, birdseye chilli, salami, jalapeño and cheddar, or grilled plates like the whole seabass with orange barley risotto ($32) and angus rib-eye ($39) served with fries and veggies. Brunch is available on weekends from 8 to 11.30am with the usual suspects on offer – eggs benedict, sweet or savoury pancakes and a three egg omelette (all $14).
