Finally, a festival dedicated to the roasted bean that, hopefully, won’t be as controversial as the last one (*cough* Café Fest *cough*). At this inaugural event, sample coffee roasts brought in from around the world in between bites dished out by local cafés and restaurants. There are over a hundred exhibitors slated to pitch their tents, so come thirsty – or sleepy.
‘Lab sessions’ by Common Man Coffee Roasters and Bettr Barista – accessible with a VIP ticket – break down the elements and skills that go into a good cuppa, while brands like Chye Seng Huat Hardware, Dapper Coffee and Knockhouse Supply Co ensure you won’t leave the premises without some kit to up your coffee game at home.
And for those with a soft spot for our local kopi, there’s a section carved out dedicated to the kopitiam experience. A line-up of homegrown bands (Charlie Lim and Pleasantry included) and film screenings (881 and Eating Air, among others) are also on hand to provide the entertainment once you’re all buzzed up.
