Souper Sarnies

Not to be mistaken with Telok Ayer’s Sarnies, Souper Sarnies is an 18-seater sandwich café that joins the row of Japanese restaurants at Orchid Hotel to offer Swiss gruyère cheese-stuffed club sandwiches and toasted paninis, against a simple set up of white-washed walls with Scandinavian-esque furniture from local startup Castlery. Highlights from their menu of eight sandwiches are the Souper Club ($12.90) filled with grilled Cajun chicken, streaky bacon, smashed avocado and a mayonnaise made in-house, their roast beef sirloin club ($14.90) with caramelised onions, and a grilled cheese panini ($10.90) with Swiss smoked ham and cooked ham. For a sweet treat, get the buttermilk waffle with caramelised bananas and homemade salted caramel ($12.90), served with a vanilla bean ice cream scoop, or a Valrhona chocolate banana cake.
