Time Out says

There is more to The Ritual Café and Bar than its white-clad interior and avocado toast. This new coffee spot at Bukit Timah hopes to promote holistic wellness – through its wholesome menu and alternative healing experiences. Savour nourishing dishes that come prepped with natural Himalayan salt instead of table salt, and stay for one of its many programmes dedicated to topics of mental wellness, spirituality, herbal remedies, and more.

The inspiration behind this space – where people can connect over coffee and conversations – first hit co-founder Cassandra Riene Tan during the circuit breaker. In a time of limited social interaction, it dawned on her the importance of having a community to tap onto for support. “I wanted to have a place where like-minded people can come together,” shares Cassandra. “To help facilitate proper conversations and relationships.”

The first step: creating a conducive environment. Draped white cloth makes for a soft, cosy environment. Settle in, and tuck into hearty, healthy fare that spans beyond the usual salad. “There is something for every taste,” shares Cassandra on the inclusive menu. Fries come dusted with homemade kombu salt ($15), and nachos ($15) are topped with Impossible chilli. From the breakfast menu, highlights include a pillowy bagel, topped with beetroot-stained gravlax and cream cheese ($23); scrambled eggs-stuffed croissant that comes crowned with slices of black truffle ($18); and a signature avocado toast ($18) dressed with Vegemite.

Round off the meal with buttermilk waffles ($15) or a slice of Ritual Basque cheesecake ($9). Choose to wash everything down with a cup of coffee (from $4), brewed with a special blend of Arabica and Robusta beans; or sip on its signature homemade chai latte (from $6).

Feed the mind, too, by signing up for one of the café’s many wellness talk and events. The Ritual Café and Bar hopes to provide a safe space for ‘tribe’ members to explore lesser-broached topics that range from herbal remedies to reiki healing.
