Valentine's Day at Capella Singapore

Time Out says

With the day of love falling on a Tuesday this year, a quick getaway seems impossible. Bright side? There’s always Sentosa. The tropical paradise has more than its fair share of tranquil nooks and crannies for lovebirds – and Capella Singapore’s the coveted choice.

Come February 14, the hotel is whipping up two menus at its restaurants that are as extensive as they are affordable. Slip into either Chef’s Table or Bob’s Bar for a cosy meal – they’re quiet enough to make you feel like the only ones there.

Afternoon tea

Luxe yet laid-back, Chef’s Table combines a home-style kitchen and a modest dining space for intimate meals. When the special day arrives, kick back over a decadent afternoon tea of classic treats and bubbly ($118 for two, including two glasses of Taittinger Brut), from 3 to 5pm. The five-course menu features a rainbow of sweets and savouries, such as cranberry scones and smoked salmon gravalax with watercress cream purée.

Movie under the stars

Bob’s Bar whisks couples away to Havana’s glory days with its Cuban-inspired cuisine, refined rums and idyllic interiors. Toast to your love with a glass of champagne, then huddle up on your al fresco daybed for a classic movie under the stars. On the special pincho (small Spanish snacks) menu are dishes like the Bordeaux canelé soaked in Navegante (the bar’s customised rum) and mojito ceviches. The whole experience runs from 6.30pm to midnight, and will set you back a mere $118 for two, including two flutes of bubbly.
