What is it? A Cantonese restaurant that has been around since 1990, Xin Cuisine Chinese Restaurant brings together time-honoured recipes and contemporary touches in a relaxed, spacious setting. Its menu spans classic Cantonese dishes, handmade dim sum and seasonal specialities, all prepared by a team of master chefs.
Why we love it: Dim sum fans can bite into a selection of steamed favourites, including shrimp and fish roe har gow, pork siew mai with wolfberries, abalone seafood dumpling and the ever-popular custard bun with salted egg yolk. For bigger gatherings, curated set menus from business lunches to celebrations make sharing a little easier, with vegetarian options alongside signatures such as homestyle roast duck with tea leaves and braised live lobster ee-fu noodles. Save room for the deep-fried sesame ball with red bean and chocolate liquor filling – because ending a Chinese feast with something sweet is never a bad idea.
Time Out tip: For a more intimate celebration, book one of the five private dining rooms in advance. And for BYOB fans, there’s an added perk: the first bottle of sealed, duty-paid wine or champagne comes with complimentary corkage.
