Set up by an art collector, logistics entrepreneur and now, adding to the hyphenates, restaurateur, Christian Zott’s two-storey space serves up Alps cuisine with a side of bovine quirk. To fully experience it might require a special occasion, though – a meal here can be incredibly pricey. There are five- ($98) and seven-course ($138) degustation menus, prepared by chef Lorenz-Maria Friesser and his team, as well as mammoth-sized dishes to share, like the grain-fed Australian porterhouse ($180) that feeds up to three. For a wallet-friendlier meal, consider the business lunch sets: they clock in at $34 for a two courses and $38 for three. Complete the Alps experience with Zott’s range of European wines, starting at $16 a glass and $69 a bottle.
