Time Out says

Although most people are more likely to read e-books nowadays, no one can deny that going to a bookstore is an incredibly relaxing experience. Tucked amongst the various museums at Armenian Street, Bommoi feels like a safe haven separated from the rest of the world. With various quotes from Korean authors written on the windows paired with cute illustrations, the simple yet gorgeous shop exterior invites you into its quaint little store, even if you are only going to be in there for a few minutes.

It is easy to get lost amongst all of the books and stationery at Bommoi, and what starts off as a five minute detour can easily become an hour long affair, especially since the bookstore also has a café area where you can have a cup of tea and enjoy one of the many books and magazines available for visitors to peruse. Do try its unique tea soda ($9.50) for a refreshing drink perfect for a hot day. It also pairs well with its small bite of the day ($4), which is currently samlip, a Korean full moon cake with a strawberry cream filling. Visitors can also add on a Korean snack of their choosing such as Haitai’s French pie, Crown’s victory pie, and Couque D’Asse cookies for $1.50 each when ordering a drink. Or you can opt for the kids snack tray ($7.50), which allows you to pick out four different snacks and choose between a juice box or a Milkis.

As Bommoi is a Korean bookstore, the store mainly features Korean titles and children's picture books. There is a small section dedicated to Korean books with English translations, but don’t expect a wide variety of books in English when visiting. The bookstore also has a section dedicated to Korean ceramics, cute stationery, and various knick-knacks that make perfect gifts for your loved ones.

Bommoi also frequently hosts book clubs, talks, and reading sessions that are conducted in both Korean and English, so those learning Korean can immerse themselves in an environment where they can practise speaking the language. You can find out more about the bookstore’s upcoming events on its Instagram.
