The name The Fashion Pulpit (TFP) is synonymous with the sustainable fashion movement that is growing in Singapore. The store at Marina One is where you can swap or buy pre-loved clothes and accessories. With more people getting on the swapping bandwagon and more people donating pre-loved items, the TFP team is left with the very good problem of having too many clothes and items than their swappers could take home – which is how Playdate came to be.
A sister project of TFP, Playdate is a digital thrift store where anyone can browse through the clothing that has yet to find a home. The concept of Playdate continues to give items in the old inventory an extended life. For the first time, Playdate is holding its first pop-up sale event to thank its customers who have been supporting the platform. There will be over 5,000 pieces of specially curated fashionable items. Find floral printed dresses to edgy vibrant tops – there's going to be something to appeal to all sartorial sorts.
On the day of the pop-up, each customer is allowed one hour to shop and everyone is encouraged to bring their own bags. There will be no changing rooms provided so some quick decisions need to be made on the day. The event is open to all so gather your friends and family for a day of shopping. You'll be doing your part to charity too – 20 percent of the sales proceeds will go towards #HateIsAVirus, a non-profit organization to help with Asian racism and hate crimes that have been occurring in some parts of the world recently.
