The Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA) is a non-profit that promotes and maintains the national dragon boating team as well as organises large-scale competitions such as the DBS Marina Regatta, Singapore Dragon Boat Festival and the Singapore River Regatta.
Pick up the sport by signing up for orientation programmes hosted by SDBA or gather your friends or colleagues for some dragon boat team-bonding – all you need is crew of four to ten for a 12-crew dragon boat ($32.10-$224.70/2 hrs), or eight to 20 people for the 22-crew boat ($53.50-$267.50/2 hrs). Paddles and personal floatation devices are provided. Bookings have to be made two weeks in advance, especially if you require a trainer and a steersperson.
