Cirque du Soleil returns to Singapore this year with its most acclaimed touring show written and directed by Michel Laprise. Time comes to a complete stop in Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities and everyone is invited to step into a fantasy world where the possibilities are endless. Get ready to be transported into the latter half of the nineteenth century, and follow a scientist – aka The Seeker – in his search for a hidden world, a place where the craziest ideas and grandest dreams await.
Kurios - Cabinet of Curiosities is a time machine that takes audiences back to the Industrial Revolution. Embracing a steampunk theme, it gives a unique slant to the troupe's usual acts by taking you through the eyes of mad scientists and makers of playful mayhem. Save for some predictable mainstays like the banquine (human springboard) and aerial straps, it's mesmerising from start to finish - with a series of surprising twists (in the air, at that), elaborate Victorian-era costumes, and moments that bring you to the edge of your seat. Is it any wonder that the big-top extravaganza is highly lauded as one of the Montreal circus troupe's strongest production in years?
Be prepared to witness an international cast of 47 artists from 17 countries – we're talking a troupe of world-class gymnasts, acrobats, contortionists, clowns, actors, musicians, and more – come together to The Seeker’s world, all guided by the sweet sounds of jazz and electro-swing.
