Time Out says

First staged in 1990 and subsequently in 2010 to full houses at the Singapore Arts Festival, Those Who Can't, Teach is one of The Necessary Stage's most successful plays. Unsurprisingly, too, as the play was written by Cultural Medallion winners Haresh Sharma and Alvin Tan. Set in a secondary school, Those Who Can't, Teach looks at the madcap lives of ever-suffering teachers and troublemaking students – with often hilarious results. Add the dreaded parents into the mix, and that's a whole lot of drama.

Now that we're all staying home, The Necessary Stage is bringing theatre to you with an online watch party on April 16 at 8pm – so you don't have to miss out on the communal theatre experience. While it's free, you'll have to sign up for the watch party, as it's limited to 100 spots. Join other theatre lovers in a party where you get to laugh and cry together over the antics of Teck Liang and his friends from MPSS, much to Mrs Phua's dismay. After the show, there'll be a post-show dialogue with director Alvin Tan and playwright Haresh Sharma, as well as cast members from the 2017 production – namely Ghafir Akbar, Joshua Lim, Karen Tan, Lian Sutton and Siti Khalijah Zainal.

If you can't make it for the watch party, don't fret. The Necessary Stage is offering free access to a recording of the full production till April 30 here. So you can watch it at your own time – or ten times over, if you like.
