Time Out says

A play disguised as a wedding? That’s what A Mirror is in a nutshell. From British playwright Sam Holcroft comes a sharp, darkly funny and provocative drama that blurs the line between fact and fiction. The story is set in an unnamed authoritarian state, where the truth is being questioned and artistic freedom is challenged. In the performance, a writer decides to stage a theatre production without government approval – and you’re in on the secret.

A Mirror was inspired by Holcroft’s visit to North Korea, which she’d described as “a piece of theatre like nothing I’ve ever seen”. The play made its debut to huge acclaim in 2023 at London’s Almeida Theatre, before moving to the Trafalgar Theatre in London’s West End. The Singapore edition of A Mirror stars Ghafir Akbar, Andrew Marko, Zachary Pang and Coco Wang Ling, and is directed by Tracie Pang, alongside Timothy Koh.

It is staged at the Singtel Waterfront Theatre.
