Singapore’s largest inclusive orchestra, The Purple Symphony, is back once again, returning to the stage for their annual concert. This year, the ensemble tackles the theme Around the World: A Dance Edition, which takes the audience on a journey across continents through rhythm, melody, and movement. Expect a blend of classical works, folk traditions and contemporary favourites that’ll have you moving and grooving in your seat by the end of the performance.
Since making their concert debut in 2015, The Purple Symphony has always championed accessibility and representation in the arts. The orchestra comprises musicians with and without disabilities who perform on both Asian and Western instruments across five musical sections: strings (plucked), strings (bowed), wind, percussion, and choir.
Aside from the performance, this year’s concert also features a special foyer experience that highlights the talent behind the music. Commemorate the evening by snapping pics at designated photo spots, taking home event postcards, or leaving words of appreciation for the performers.
