There'll soon be the smell of delicious, delicious pizzas wafting from 8 Ann Siang Hill. They're not just any pizzas either, but those made by lauded Italian chef Antonio Miscellaneo. If you're not familiar, he's the man behind La Bottega Enoteca, which serves up pizzas that clinched the 19th spot in the well-respected 50 Top Pizza Asia Pacific 2023 awards.
At the weekend-only event, you'll be trying pizzas from the Casa Vostra menu. This is chef Miscellaneo's delivery-only, ready-to-heat concept. Here, the recipes have been tweaked to create a pizza that survives the trip from kitchen to doorstep. All you have to do is heat them in your oven for 5 minutes tops – and there you go, a perfect slice worthy of any top pizza list.
At the Casa Vostra pop-up, sit down with chef Miscellaneo's signature Newpolitan. A twist on the classic Neopolitan, this pizza has been perfectly calibrated to deliver a light and crisp crust with every bite. And trusting that beauty is in simplicity, toppings range from prosciutto e funghi, tartufata, and margherita. Something you can only try at the pop-up: a sausage and onion pizza finished with a whiff of fresh basil.
Those who can't get enough of pizza crusts will love the DoubleCrunch too. Billed as a pizza-sandwich hybrid, this novelty sees pizza toppings sandwiched between two crunchy slices of pizza 'pastry'. Try the Genovese, a combination of basil pesto, three cheeses, prosciutto, and pistachio bits; or the pop-up exclusive smoked salmon, burrata, and rocket variation.
Casa Vostra means "your home" in Italian. In keeping with that sentiment, the pop-up will also feature comforting pastas like cacio e pepe, vongole, and ragu di salsiccia (sausage ragu). Satisfy your sweet tooth with three gelato flavours, like strawberry, chocolate hazelnut, and stracciatella. Cocktails and Italian wines are also on the menu to round out your breezy Italian meal. And on November 4 only, drop by for 1-for-1 Aperol Spritzes.
