Start the new year the traditional Japanese away. Take part in various activities ranging from the traditional taiko drum performance to a bento-making workshop. Kick things off with a bang as the Hibikiya Group showcases a taiko drum performance followed by a sake opening ceremony to raise a toast to harmony and good fortune for the new year. There's also a mochi-pounding session to end the celebration on a sweet note. It doesn't end there – the festivities continue over the weekend with a roaring Shishimai performance (Jan 5, 2pm).
