Time Out says

Although Chong Tze Chien’s award-winning play Charged debuted in 2010, its themes remain strikingly relevant and just as urgent today. The play, which won Chong Best Original Script at the 2011 Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards, returns with a gripping new staging under the direction of Mohd Fared Jainal, forcing the audience to confront uncomfortable truths about race, power and bias in Singapore.

The TLDR of Charged goes like this: It’s set during one night inside an army camp over the Chinese New Year festivities, where most of the soldiers left behind to stay guard are the minority recruits. But when a shooting occurs and two soldiers are found dead, an investigation unfolds, exposing a web of lies, secrets and ugly realities behind the tragedy.

The 2026 edition of Charged features performances by Brendon Fernandez, Irsyad Dawood, Teoh Jun Vinh, Krish Natarajan, Ali Mazrin, Izzul Irfan, Siti Hajar Abdul Gani and Serene Chen.
