One of Singapore’s most popular precincts, Christmas on a Great Street, returns to Orchard Road this year. The annual light-up is set to transform Orchard Road into a festive wonderland, complete with bright lights, dazzling decorations, festive music and yuletide joy. Adding to Orchard Road’s electrifying atmosphere are the array of engaging pop-up activations, immersive attractions and Christmas-themed workshops that shoppers and visitors can look forward to.
Christmas Light-Up 2022

From November 12, take a stroll down Orchard Road and be dazzled by the illuminating arches and eye-catching decorations. The Christmas lights begin at Tanglin Road, where a spectacular teal and white arch greets you. Stick around for the dazzling projections ranging from a spinning Ferris wheel to an explosive AR fireworks display. Walk down the street and admire the 3.1km of lights – all indicative of a carnival spirit. Look out for this year’s new feature – the 104 trees lit up with energy-saving led white lights to enhance the magical experience of Christmas on Orchard Road. These Christmas lights will also ring in CNY and Valentine’s Day next year, as the white lights take on pink hues to reflect the season. Other highlights include interactive set pieces so you can snap photos with the family, and the main arch at the junction of Orchard Road and Scotts Road, all decked out with ornate Christmas trees that are decorated with reindeer and baubles on each side of the road.
Great Christmas Village

The Great Christmas Village makes a comeback this year with holiday-themed rides, Christmas nibbles, musical performances, shopping pop-ups and many more. Enjoy the carnival with the brand new all-white carousel located at the heart of the village and festive rides such as Samba Balloon, Red Swing and Pirate Ship. Take part in kid-friendly holiday workshops where you and the family can learn new art skills such as alcohol ink painting, tapestry weaving, clay modelling, and crafting.
After a day of fun-filled activities, feed your social media and bellies with bites from VeganBurg, Speciality Thai Grills and sweet treats from Magnum and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Fancy an ice-cold pint? Sip on a cold one as you cool down from the sweltering heat at the beer garden.
Swing by the main stage for live music and entertainment at the Great Christmas Village and dance along to the tunes of musicians like Jack and Rai, Fyrdaus Macbeth and The Cold Cut Duo. Shoppers looking for last-minute gifts can also browse the various pop-up activations in front of ION Orchard from brands such as Gucci Beauty and Braun Buffel as they stroll along the walkway in front of ION Orchard to Mandarin Gallery.
Can’t get enough of holiday carols and festive songs? Sing along to Christmas carols and classics in the air as you walk along ION Orchard and Ngee Ann City, as well as outside Wheelock Place and Far East Shopping Centre between 5pm to 10.30pm daily and 5pm till late on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Outdoor projections
Heaps of interactive Christmas-themed displays await. Expect stunning 10-minute 3D projection shows including shots of Orchard Road Christmas light-ups from previous years, a vibrant spinning Ferris wheel and a stunning firework display, all in AR. Head to the facade of the Mandarin Gallery that faces Ngee Ann City for these special features – you also get to see the Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve countdown clock here.
