Time Out says

This year has been one rollercoaster ride – we've seen many festivals and events cancelled and moved online, and movie releases delayed further due to the global crisis. And the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is no exception. A place where people from all over the world come together to celebrate sci-fi and comic book culture, the world's largest comic convention was set to return later on July 23 to 26, only to be postponed to July 22 to 25, 2021. But it's not all bad news – SDCC is making a digital switch this year with Comic-Con@Home.

Set to debut on July 22, the digital convention is available for all to geek out from every corner of the globe – no badge required. This opens up SDCC's audience in a major way, as anyone who has been to SDCC can attest to the fact that getting tickets is a highly competitive geek gauntlet.

While the full list of panels and A-listers attending have not been confirmed yet, it promises exclusive panels and presentations on upcoming comics, gaming, television, film, and a wide variety of topics from publishers, studios, and more. TV network AMC has recently revealed its lineup in Comic-Con@Home with The Walking Dead universe going out in full force with the franchise’s original series as well as Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World BeyondThey will be joined by the panel for the vampire drama NOS4A2.

Additionally, the digital event also includes an Exhibit Hall complete with popular exhibitors offering specials, promotions, and the usual limited-edition items that are exclusive to the convention, including the recently announced SDCC exclusive WWE Mr. T figurine (we pity the fool who won't be snapping this up). The event also features the iconic Masquerade Ball as well as gaming and other activities in which fans can participate from their homes.

Unlike any other cosplay-heavy expo, SDCC has solidified its status as the ultimate playground of pop and comic culture for its big-name movie and TV panels in recent years. With its digital version going live on July 22, here's your chance to check it all out without jetting off to San Diego, camping out the Exhibit Hall, and squeezing past the crowds.
