Time Out says

Forget exploring the world in 80 days. Esplanade is taking you around the globe in 30 days – but through the power of music. For a whole month, the theatre becomes your musical passport to sounds from the Middle East, Asia, Europe and America. Expect everything from vibrant Latin American performances and energetic Guinean rhythms to Celtic folk and Arabic jazz. There’s also plenty to discover closer to home with diverse music from our neighbouring countries taking centre stage. Hear the Javanese gamelan, the Japanese zither, taiko drums, traditional Philippine gong instruments and more in action.

Singapore’s own musical traditions aren’t forgotten either in this multicultural fest. Look forward to a performance of Teochew music by The Singapore Kityang Huay Kwan Teochew Music Ensemble and a mesmerising showcase of kathak, a classical Indian dance. Plus, nothing describes Singapore more than combining our different cultures into one. At Unfolding, Indian music meets the Chinese guzheng for a totally local twist. Elsewhere, homegrown collective The Good Company puts their own spin on bluegrass music.
