The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre is hosting its first-ever children’s festival, just in time for the school holiday season. Over three days, celebrate and deepen your appreciation for Singaporean Chinese culture and language through a series of performances, activities, and workshops.
Look forward to a puppet show by the Paper Monkey Theatre, which brings to life the legendary tale of NeZha. Follow along on this vibrant retelling of the beloved Chinese folklore about a rebellious child deity who embarks on a high-stakes quest filled with dragon battles and more to protect his loved ones. Featuring original music by The Flame of the Forest, the theatrical show melds handcrafted puppetry with live martial arts and a dragon dance performance for an immersive storytelling experience.
Elsewhere, take part in kueh-making workshops or bond with the kiddos in a lively music session inspired by classic nursery rhymes. There’s also My Little Chingay Float, an exhibition that explores the history and traditions of Singapore's annual street parade. Plus, learn more about how this originally Chinese procession has turned into a multicultural celebration.
