The Beatback Project isn’t your average music night. Organised by Singapore-based indie creative music collective and label Dreamsound, the charity concert brings together the local music and dance community to raise food items, such as cooking oil, rice and bread spreads, for those in need. Returning for its second edition, this year’s event aims to collect at least 6,100 donations to mark Singapore’s 61st birthday and will bring together more than 10 homegrown acts.
Headlining the night are a mix of familiar faces and up-and-comers, spanning genres such as alt-rock, electronic and hip-hop. The lineup includes Dreamsound artists Amos Judah, BDKNIP, Feez, GLV Entertainment and Syaz Smooth, alongside fan-favourite bands such as Lucky You and Krunkle. Meanwhile, rapper Mary Sue joins forces with his collective, The Clementi Sound Appreciation Club, for an experimental performance fusing boom-bap rhythms with jazz. Then, prepare yourself for an exhilarating clash of hyperpop, EDM, pop-punk, and digicore as SCUMBOYS, Singapore’s first underground electronic boy band, take the stage.
Instead of getting a ticket, you can secure admission to the concert by donating via uMart. More details can be found here.
