Gracing our shores for the first time, Brazilian flutist Joao Bastos and his partner and longtime collaborator, pianist Yara Borges, will perform to a crowd of more than 300 at the SOTA (School of the Arts) Concert Hall.
The duo will perform Panorama of Brazilian Music, a majestic musical enterprise that features the duo’s renditions of classical and popular Brazilian music by composers such as Guerra Peixe, Zequinha de Abreu, Chiquinha Gonzago and Vinicius de Morais – unfamiliar names to most of us, but true luminaries in their respective fields.
This recital will kick off a series of events to commemorate Brazil’s National Day in Singapore. Tickets are free, but will be given on a first-come first-served basis to the first 300 at the venue, beginning at 6:30pm.
